The switch --perf_data_prefix|–perf_data_multiplicator|–perf_data_factor used to set SI-Prefixes (ki, k, Mi, M, Gi, G, …) for performance data will be removed with the next release. From then on, the respective basic units (bits, bytes, seconds, …) will be used for performance data output (currently, this is the default setting).
Reasoning
- perf_data_prefix was hardly used
- perf_data_prefix does not make much sense (performance data should be formatted by an overlying presentation layer - not by the monitoring plugin)
- the current implementation of the switch has several bugs which remained undetected for several years, confirming the impression that this feature is not being used
